J/Boats Ready for California Offshore Race Week 2026

(San Francisco, CA)- California Offshore Race (CORA) week will start on Memorial Day weekend in San Francisco and finish in San Diego. The week will comprise three separate races with an overall winner for boats competing in all three. Overall, it is one of the longest races in California, and J/Boats are always very well represented.

Spinnaker Cup

The first of the 3 races- the Spinnaker Cup- will start on May 23rd in San Francisco and finish in Monterey (90.0nm down the coast) with sixty-three boats competing. So far, three of the famous J/125 carbon-fiber speedsters are registered (Rufus Sjoberg’s RUFLESS, John Vincent & Kenny Kieding’s ARGO IV, & Dan Murphy’s JAVELIN). In addition, there are two J/120s (Robert Jones’s SUR & Jean duPreez’s THUNDERSTRUCK), a J/133 (Shane Riehl’s DEFIANT), two J/105s (David Potter’s ENCORE & Hugh Westermeyer’s TWELVE BAR BLUES), a new performance J/40 (Mike Moradzadeh’s O2), a J/80 (Ryan McMillen’s MAVERICK), two of the carbon J/90 speedsters (Dave MacEwen’s LUCKY DUCK & Ian Rogers’s ORCA), a J/92 (Tim Roche’s ZAFF), and two J/99s (Camille Mousette’s LATENCY & Falk Meissner’s SHARK ON BLUEGRASS).

Coastal Cup

The Coastal Cup will start on Memorial Day and finish off the coast of Santa Barbara (200.0nm) with twenty-two boats registered. All three J/125s (RUFLESS, ARGO IV, & JAVELIN) from the Spinnaker Cup are participating, as well as both J/120s, plus the J/90 ORCA, and the J/99 LATENCY.

SoCAL 300

The SoCAL 300 Race- third leg of the Offshore Week- starts in Santa Barbara on May 28th and finishes in San Diego (300.0nm). Forty boats are registered for this race, including the three J/125s, Rogers’s J/90 ORCA, and Moussette’s J/99 LATENCY.

CA Offshore Race Week Series- all 3 events
Of the thirteen boats registered to complete the entire 600.0nm of offshore races, nearly half the fleet (5) are J/Boats!! Those teams are the three J/125s (RUFLESS, ARGO IV, & JAVELIN), Mousette’s J/99 LATENCY, and Rogers’s J/90 ORCA!
