(Rye, New York)- Coming up next weekend will be the American Yacht Club’s famous fall regatta on Long Island Sound- the AYC Fall Regatta. For many sailors, it’s the culmination of a long summer of sailing on the Sound. Fall sailing weather often brings plenty of breeze, and the onshore festivities are second to none. The regatta has proven to be very popular with J/Boats owners from all over the northeastern seaboard.

Here are six reasons why you should not miss this year’s AYC Fall Regatta:

     1. A very wide range of divisions and course formats for all types of boats. Offering W/L and Navigator Courses for ORC, PHRF, and One Design.

     2. Flexible format. You can decide to race one or two weekends

     3. Opening weekend AYC Fall Regatta: Coastal Trophies awarded daily

     4. Live music after racing on Saturday and Sunday with complimentary food & drinks both weekends! Friends and families of sailors are welcome to join.

     5. Storytelling and connecting with the sailing community on the picturesque AYC Lawn and Clubhouse.

J/88 North Americans
American Yacht Club is also proud to host the 2026 J/88 North American Championship alongside this year’s AYC Fall Regatta. The final two days of the Championship will take place on Saturday and Sunday, October 3 & 4, coinciding with the second weekend of AYC Fall Regatta racing.

J/88 competitors will also have the opportunity to take part in the opening weekend of the AYC Fall Regatta. The J/88 North American Championship entry fee includes the option to enter the Saturday Coastal Race on September 26 and/or the Sunday Coastal Race on September 27, allowing teams to race more at AYC ahead of Championship weekend.
