Thunersee YC Wins 2026 Swiss J/70 Women’s Sailing League

(La Neuveville, Switzerland)- The Swiss J/70 Women’s Super League Act 2 took place at La Bordée de Tribord to determine the top women’s teams in Switzerland. The eleven teams from all four points of the compass in the Swiss mountain nation sailed twelve races; that was no easy accomplishment! It was a long Saturday of waiting with no wind, followed by a sunny Sunday afternoon with 1 race! To top it off, Sunday brought beautiful sunset sailing in the Joran! Ultimately, Monday delivered perfect conditions and super wind, allowing the RC/PRO team at Bordée de Tribord to sail 11 races and finish the event on a high! What a weekend of sailing!

The Thunersee Yacht-Club team (Sophie Mosegaard, Fiona Scharer, Michele Guggisberg, Rahel Pfister, Julie Buchmann, and Valerie Leuch) won with a strong performance of six bullets, mostly podium finishes, for 23 pts total. Second went to the Regattaclub Bodensee team (Livia Naef, Tessa Egli, Sandra Giovanoli, Dani Rast, and Giulia Corbelli), winning their fair share of races and also counting all but one podium finish. However, they couldn’t match the blistering pace set by their sisters from Thunersee, finishing with 26 pts total. Rounding out the podium and taking bronze was the Zurcher Yacht-Club team (Thais de Triolet, Vera Balmer, Katharina Fraberger, Tiare Hurlmann, Vlada Riabova, and Johanna Klotzli) with 33 pts total.

The rest of the top five were a “hair’s breadth” away from taking that bronze medal step on the podium. Just two points back with 35 pts was the Regattaclub Oberhofen team (Lisa Thonen, Angelika Siegfried, Romea Fries, Selina Adam, Felicia Adam, and Salvina Fries) in fourth place. Then, just two more points behind with 37 pts, the Yacht-Club Bielersee team (Lea Tschudi, Dominique Muller, Tabea Richard, Ann-Seline Fankhauser, and Malin Karlsson) took fifth place.
