J/Teams Set for 2026 Harvest Moon Regatta from Galveston to Port Aransas

(Seabrook, TX)- The annual fall extravaganza and massive party known as the “Harvest Moon Regatta” will again be hosted by Lakewood Yacht Club in Houston/ Seabrook, Texas. Starting in Galveston Bay, the fleet sails out the Straits into the Gulf of Mexico, turns left, and enjoys a gorgeous sunset sail and an evening, starlit finish at Port Aransas down the Gulf Coast.

The event has proven quite popular, especially with cruising sailors in the region. Additionally, multiple J/crews enjoy the sailing and, especially, the world-class, second-to-none festivities ashore!

The ORC Spinnaker Division includes a dozen boats, most of which are J/Teams! Those boats include Forbes Durbin’s J/121 BEAR, Tom Sutton’s J/122 LEADING EDGE, Bill Mead’s J/105 SPITFIRE, Alex & Marie Wise’s J/105 USUAL SUSPECTS, and Rob Freas’s J/35 SCOUTING EDGE (with a Sea Scouts team!).
