Club Nautique de Versoix Wins 2026 J/70 SAILING Champions League
(Kiel, Germany)- The Club Nautique de Versoix secured the 2026 J/70 SAILING Champions League title during a thrilling finale on the Kiel inner fjord this weekend. In the 13th season of the successful J/70 sailing league format, the coveted championship trophy goes to Switzerland for the very first time.
The venue demanded everything from the top international crews in the matched J/70 one-design keelboats. Tricky, shifting winds between the huge cruise ships in the harbor basin created demanding conditions in the first days. Tactical intuition, sensitive trim, and the absolute necessity to keep the boat moving constantly in the light breeze were essential. The short-course races became a true stage for light-wind specialists.
No single team dominated throughout the regatta. The fleet’s performance level was too high, with established teams and newly formed crews locked in a constant battle. READ MORE HERE.

Club Nautique Morgien Wins Swiss J/70 Super League and 2026 Championship
(Lake Geneva, Switzerland)- From October 2-4, the Swiss J/70 Sailing Super League gathered in Morges on Lake Geneva for the fourth and final Act of the 2026 season. Hosted by Club Nautique Morgien (CNM), the event brought three days of pure Swiss Sailing League racing and an exciting Mixed Series season to a close.
Friday opened the series with a beautiful day of racing. The wind was consistent in strength, although at times shifty, providing excellent conditions for the teams on the water. The forecasts for Saturday and Sunday looked considerably less promising. Nevertheless, the race committee made the most of every opportunity and completed 26 races over the three days, giving each team 13 races.
CN Morgien made an early statement in the fight for the event victory and ultimately delivered on home waters. READ MORE HERE.

PIRANHA Wins 2026 J/88 North American Championship on Long Island Sound (Rye, NY)- The 2026 edition of the J/88 North American Championship will certainly go down in the history books as one of the toughest on record, with a mere dozen races over four days run by the Machiavellian Race Committee/ PRO team at the American Yacht Club! The sailors loved it; of course, everyone signed up for lots of sailing!
A dozen J/88 teams from across the country were ready to race on the often challenging race track known as western Long Island Sound. Depending on the wind conditions and, of course, the currents ripping up and down the Sound, running east and west, it was never a dull moment for the tacticians, who were often driven to drink after the races, wondering what just hit them! The fleet experienced a full range of conditions, from light and tricky breezes the first two days to winds reaching 28 knots for the last two days.
Still, the J/88s were treated to an epic battle between the top two boats from Chicago, IL, at the top of the leaderboard. Neither team gave the other a centimeter of breathing room as they fought tooth and nail around the race track in eleven of the twelve races. READ MORE HERE.

J/Boats Sweep Divisions at 2026 American Yacht Club Fall Regatta (Rye, New York)- After last weekend got blown out by that infamous four-day “nor’easter” storm, the American Yacht Club’s famous fall regatta on Long Island Sound got this past weekend underway at a full-on roll. With a bit of practice under their belts getting the J/88 North Americans going on Wednesday, by the time the rest of the “big boats” all showed up en masse for the weekend, the extremely capable American YC RC/PRO team was ready to pound them races out in the solid breezes during the weekend. Star-Studded Fleet Set for 2026 J/22 World Championship in New Orleans (New Orleans, LA)- The talk around the bar at Southern Yacht Club on Tuesday was split between two things: the World Championship about to begin on Lake Ponchartrain and a developing weather system in the Gulf that may have something to say about how the week unfolds.
Forty-six teams have converged on New Orleans for the Allstate Sugar Bowl J/22 World Championship, with racing scheduled Wednesday through Saturday. Up to 11 races are planned, with the first warning signal scheduled for 9:55 a.m. each day.
It is a major international championship, but this particular fleet’s story may be just as much about longevity.
J/Boats developed the J/22 as its second boat, and roughly 1,600 have been built. With racing across North America, Europe, and South Africa, J/22s have weekly local club racing, intercontinental championships, and an annual World Championship rotating between Europe, the USA, and South Africa. Yacht clubs maintain fleets of J/22s for members, and family teams remain a familiar sight throughout the class. READ MORE HERE.
