ONE Sweeps Xacobeo Trophy Opener as Sanxenxo J/80 League Nears Finale

(Sanxenxo, Spain)- The Xacobeo Trophy kicked off last Saturday in the waters of the Pontevedra Estuary, featuring an intense first day of competition for the J/80 class. The weekend marks the sixth and penultimate series of the 2026 League, organized by the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo.
With perfect weather conditions—characterized by a northerly breeze blowing between 8 and 13 knots—the J/80 fleet completed its full scheduled program of three races.
ONE, skippered by Adrián Domínguez, was the undisputed standout team for the event. The team from the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo proved unbeatable across all three races, securing a clean sweep of victories that puts them firmly in the lead of the provisional standings for the Xacobeo Trophy.

ONE capitalized on the northerly winds to set the pace from the start, showing strong consistency and power against a highly competitive fleet as the season nears its conclusion.
Trailing the leader in second place was I3D ATLANTICO, helmed by Guillermo Blanco and representing the Real Club Náutico de La Coruña. Meanwhile, LA OTRA, skippered by Pablo Rodríguez—also from the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo—rounded out the podium.
The results from this first day are particularly positive for the local fleet, with two boats from the host club finishing in the top three overall— most notably ONE, which has taken a significant step toward victory in this sixth series of the League.
Nevertheless, the competition remains wide open. Next weekend, Adrián Domínguez’s ONE team will need to defend their lead against pursuers looking for any opportunity to close the gap. Domínguez’s ONE enters the final day confident after winning every race so far; however, the crew must stay focused to secure the strong standing they earned on this first day of competition.
