About Us

Our mission at J/Boats Southwest is to find the perfect boat for you to accomplish your sailing dreams. There is no other sport that generates the passion sailors have for being out on the water with friends and family, enjoying the magic of the wind propelling a well designed sailboat across the water. We believe sailing brings the thrill of an adrenaline rush, healthy competition mixed in with moments of relaxation, and a connection with nature. Sailing takes effort. But you get out of it what you put into it. There is nothing like a wind powered vessel transporting you across the water. What’s your sailing passion? Competing with the best sailors in the world on a J/70?, J/99?, the classic J24? or Day Sailing with your loved ones on a beautiful J7 or J9? Or crossing oceans on your J/40 or J/45? Young, or young-at-heart, we want to help you reach your sailing goals! We Love sailing in the southwest and working with sailors in: Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Tennessee, Kansas, and Arizona!

Kurt Vanderwall: Hi. I’m Kurt VanderWall, J/Boats Southwest Colorado representative. During my younger years here in Colorado I had the chance to sail smaller boats and catamarans, but cycling, bicycle racing, and training for endurance events were the pre-cursor for me desiring to race in competitive One Design fleets. I have raced J/70’s and J/80’s for over 20 years.
