Hanseatische Yachtschule Christens Two New J/40s

(Blacksburg, Germany)- The christening of two brand new J/40s recently took place at Hanseatische Yachtschule in Glücksburg, Germany. The weekend ceremony celebrated the 100th anniversary of Deutscher Hochseeportverband Hansa (DHH). The new J/40s will be part of the offshore cruising and daysailing programs starting in the summer of 2026. They’re joining a large fleet of J/80s that are also used for sailing instruction.
The DHH– Europe’s largest yacht school!
The DHH and its yacht schools have been the first port of call in Germany for sailing instruction since 1925. True to the association’s slogan “Learn to sail properly,” there are no “crash courses” here. Around 25 permanent DHH employees and several hundred seasonal sailing instructors from among the members have one goal: to train you to become a safe sailor.
For the 16,000-plus members and water sports enthusiasts from many nations, the DHH offers courses for all sailing licenses, motorboat licenses, correspondence courses, sailing holidays, school trips, yacht and skipper training, and crewed sailing trips in many sailing areas worldwide.
The DHH operates its yacht schools in Glücksburg on the Baltic Sea and in Prien am Chiemsee. There are no “club barriers” here. Anyone who wants to learn to sail here simply registers and applies for membership at the same time. Everyone is welcome!
