Red Fox Regatta Preview

J/111s sailing off Charlevoix, Michigan

(Charlevoix, MI)- The end of the summer sailing season for teams ranging from Little Traverse down to Grand Traverse Bay has generally been Charlevoix Yacht Club’s annual Red Fox Regatta, sailed off the beautiful lakeside resort town. The popular event will take place over the Labor Day weekend from September 3rd to 4th for the nine divisions sailing the event. 

A half-dozen boats are sailing the one-design J/22 class, with teams like Robert Grove’s PALEFACE LIT, Chris Shadek’s WINDY CITY, Tom Barnes’ RECKLESS, Robert Molter’s TACTFUL, Bob Camp’s SKADOOSH, and Dan Tosch’s SAIL CHARLEVOIX/ SAILING INC. 

In the PHRF handicap world, sailing PHRF 2 class will be Gary Stewart’s J/32 ZONE. In PHRF 4 class will be the Warrior Sailing Club’s J/95 WARRIOR 95. 

PHRF 7 class has two J/111s (George Golder’s TERRIER and Carl Hanssen’s VARIANCE), and John Johnson’s J/130 ATARAXIS.   For more Red Fox Regatta sailing information
