(Cowes<\/a>, Isle of Wight,\u00a0England<\/a>)- The penultimate\u00a0RORC<\/a>\u00a0Offshore Points Series race- the 120.0nm Channel Race- will be taking place this coming weekend. Coming off a very lightly attended\u00a0Cowes<\/a>\u00a0Weeks, this\u00a0RORC<\/a>\u00a0race may be the most lightly attended event in a long time. However, those boats that are vying for the offshore point series lead are all participating for valuable series points. The Royal Ocean Racing Club, in coordination with the Royal Yacht Squadron, will be starting the race off the famous “Squadron line” off\u00a0Cowes<\/a>, Isle of Wight on Friday evening. The 120.0nm race around the English Channel is often just a large offshore triangle, starting and stopping off the\u00a0Cowes<\/a>\u00a0line. Nevertheless, the\u00a0RORC<\/a>\u00a0Race Committee has the option to configure any set of offshore buoys for the race to address potential weather and current conditions.
