Ekolns Segelklubb Wins Swedish J/70 Sailing League in Lugnvik

(Lugnvik, Sweden)- The Örnsköldsviks Segelsällskap hosted the third regatta of the Swedish J/70 Sailing League in Lugnvik, Sweden for eighteen teams. After a nine-race series, the top six teams qualified for a single race finale to determine the champion for the regatta.

In the end, the final standings for the Lugnvik regatta were:

  • 1. Ekolns Segelklubb- 4 pts
  • 2. Kungl Svenska Segel Sällskapet- 5 pts
  • 3. Göteborgs Kungl Segelsällskap- 6 pts
  • 4. Segelsällskapet Åmålsviken- 7 pts
  • 5. Halmstads Segelsällskap- 9 pts

As a result of the Lugnvik event, the cumulative scores after the three regattas (Kalmar, Langedrag, & Örnsköldsviks) have tightened up considerably. For the last competition of the season in Allsvenskan Segling, everything will be laid on the line in Ekerö. The leaders are GKSS – Royal Gothenburg Yacht Club (6-1-3 for 10 pts), two points ahead of KSSS – the Royal Swedish Yacht Club (5-5-2 for 12 pts), and two points ahead of Halmstads Segelsällskap (7-2-5 for 14 pts).
